NSF's flagship robotics research program is the Foundational Research in Robotics (FRR) program, which supports a broad range of projects to provide important new capabilities to the next generation of robots.

Foundational Research in Robotics (FRR)

Researchers who think that their projects may be suitable for the FRR program are strongly encouraged to carefully read the full FRR program description, and to further consult with an FRR program officer. More information is available on the FRR program page.

Despite its broad scope, not all robotics-related projects are appropriate for FRR. Researchers who decide that the FRR program is not the best fit for their project may consider other robotics-related NSF programs listed below. Researchers interested in submitting to any of those programs should carefully review the full solicitation or program description and consult with an appropriate program officer for authoritative guidance.

Our robotics listserv (robotics@listserv.nsf.gov) delivers information of interest to the robotics research community and is open to everyone.
