ABSTRACT

This award is for the acquisition of two ultramicrotomes for cutting thin sections of biological material for imaging by Transmission Electron Microscopy. These ultramicrotomes will benefit research in cell interfaces and cell functions.

The ultramicrotomes will enhance the training of students from underrepresented minority groups at Howard, Catholic, Hampton and Morgan State Universities. The ultramicrotomes will also benefit students in the cytology and electron microscopy course.
