Congratulations to the 2013 BREAD Ideas Challenge Winners!
Of the hundreds of entrants from around the world, thirteen competitors have been chosen as the 2013 BREAD Ideas Challenge Winners! Their challenges range from the crop sciences to livestock to microbes to post-harvest productivity. The winners are researchers at all levels, from a graduate student in Madison, Wisconsin, to a Professor in Arusha, Tanzania. And they have challenged the scientific community to address these pressing issues to improve the lives of millions of smallholder farmers in the developing world.

The BREAD Ideas Challenge is an opportunity for researchers in the agricultural sciences to bring attention to what they believe are the most pressing issues facing smallholder farmers in the developing world today. Not only will the prizewinning Challenge Ideas be showcased for the international community to draw attention to these important challenges: Prizewinners will also receive up to $10,000 USD each for the best ideas!
