When you find a career at the National Science Foundation, you get a great place to work in the heart of an exciting area that values education, diversity, and public service.
The NSF is located at the south end of the Ballston-Rosslyn Corridor of Arlington, Virginia. This is a truly exciting area in which to work and live; the entire neighborhood is undergoing major renovations while still retaining its multicultural flavor. The Ballston area offers a variety of options from brand new colonials and high-rise apartment complexes to vintage 1920 Sears & Roebuck mail order bungalows.
With easy accessibility to Metro, most everything in the Washington area is just a short ride away. Metro's Orange Line can take you directly to the National Mall to visit some of our nation's most famous sites. You'll also have easy access to all venues for Washington DC sports as well as hubs for shopping and nightlife. And if you're looking for outdoor activities, the Custis Trail, less than a mile from NSF, connects to biking and running trails both into DC and through Virginia on the Washington & Old Dominion Trail (W&OD).
