More than 300 scientists and engineers across the United States have received
word that they have been awarded grants from a new federal program designed to
encourage them early in their careers as educators and researchers.
From a total of 1,735 proposals submitted, 337 were awarded, including 90
going to women and 24 to scientists from underrepresented groups.
Grants are about 3-5 years in duration with total award amounts ranging from
about $70,000 to $300,000.
