ERC Leader Update

Dear Colleagues,

I would like to inform all of you about a change in the Engineering Research Centers (ERC) program which is part of our EEC Division. Lynn Preston has decided to step away from her role as ERC Leader in order to serve in full-time capacity as the EEC Deputy Division Director. In the interim, Eduardo Misawa has kindly agreed to be the acting ERC Leader. We will conduct a national search for the ERC Leader position.

As you know, Lynn has served in the role of ERC Leader for nearly three decades since its inception. During this time, the ERC program has become a flagship program for the Engineering Directorate. With her creative, strong, and dedicated leadership, she has grown it into a nationally recognized and highly prestigious program. I personally want to thank Lynn for her many years of excellent leadership of the ERC Program.

I know that Eduardo Misawa will seek help and cooperation from many of you as we continue with the ongoing ERC competition as well the management of existing Centers and Networks. Please help support him as he takes over these responsibilities.

Pramod Khargonekar
Assistant Director for Engineering
