Session S1A: Mini Workshop - A Workshop on Evaluation of Education Development Projects
Engineering educators are becoming more and more involved in both funded and unfunded projects to improve the learning of their students. The goal of this workshop is to prepare engineering faculty members to work with an evaluator to plan and implement an effective evaluation of an educational development project. In pursuit of this goal, the workshop intends to increase the participants' awareness of the purpose and uses of evaluation, of the role of goals and outcomes in the evaluation process, of the nature of the cognitive outcomes, and of evaluation tools for documenting and monitoring these types of outcomes.
Session S3B: Special Session - Moving From CCLI to TUES - Meeting NSF ExpectationsÂ
Engineering faculty members interested in education research and development projects need NSF funding to support their efforts. This session aims to enable the participants to prepare more competitive curriculum development proposals to the NSF Transforming Undergraduate Education in Science, Engineering, Technology, and Mathematics (TUES) Program, the replacement for the Course, Curriculum, and Laboratory (CCLI) Program. The session should make them aware of the expanded expectations defined in the new Solicitation and prepare them to develop proposals that meet these expectations.
