PROGRAM GUIDELINES

Apply to PD 07-1266 as follows:
For full proposals submitted via FastLane:
standard Grant Proposal Guidelines apply.
For full proposals submitted via Grants.gov:
NSF Grants.gov Application Guide; A Guide for the Preparation and Submission of NSF Applications via Grants.gov Guidelines apply
(Note: The NSF Grants.gov Application Guide is available on the Grants.gov website and on the NSF website at:

Please be advised that the NSF Proposal & Award Policies & Procedures Guide (PAPPG) includes
revised guidelines to implement the mentoring provisions of the America COMPETES Act (ACA)
(Pub. L. No. 110-69, Aug. 9, 2007.) As specified in the ACA, each proposal that requests
funding to support postdoctoral researchers must include a description of the mentoring
activities that will be provided for such individuals. Proposals that do not comply
with this requirement will be returned without review (see the PAPP Guide Part I:
Grant Proposal Guide Chapter II for further information about the implementation of
this new requirement).
DUE DATES
Full Proposal Window: November 1, 2010
-
November 15, 2010
November 1 - 15, annually
November 1 - November 15, Annually Thereafter
Research proposals to the Applied Mathematics program submitted after the window closing date will be returned without review. The submission window does not apply to conference and workshop proposals, which should be submitted eight to twelve months before the requested starting date.
SYNOPSIS

Supports mathematics research motivated by or having an effect on problems arising in science and engineering. Mathematical merit and novelty, as well as breadth and quality of impact on applications, are important factors. Proposals to develop critical mathematical techniques from individual investigators as well as interdisciplinary teams are encouraged.
