Multi-Scale Modeling (MSM) Incentive Activity

Directorate for Geosciences and Directorate for Biological Sciences

The MSM (Multi-Scale Modeling) activity described in the February 2009 Dear Colleague Letter for the Directorate for Geosciences (GEO) and the Directorate for Biological Sciences (BIO) will be folded into a new multi-scale modeling effort focusing on climate issues. We anticipate the related solicitation will be available on the NSF website in early 2010.

MSM proposals that are already pending in the NSF system and that have completed the full merit review process by January 4th 2010 will still be considered for funding under the previous MSM guidelines.

Investigators wishing to submit multi-scale modeling proposals should consult the new solicitation for guidance on project focus and content.

Please feel free to contact Barbara Ransom (bransom@nsf.gov; 703-292-7792) if you have any questions.
