An international team of researchers, led by scientists from the University of California, San Diego, School of Medicine and Indiana University, has identified a protein that broadly regulates how genetic information transcribed from DNA to messenger RNA is processed and ultimately translated into the myriad of proteins necessary for life.

The National Science Foundation (NSF) is an independent federal agency that supports fundamental research and education across all fields of science and engineering.
