New research published in an article titled "What Counts in the Development of Young Children's Number Knowledge?" in the current issue of Developmental Psychology suggests parents should talk to their children about numbers early and often.
Research by University of Chicago psychologist Susan Levine shows that children whose parents talk with them more about numbers do better in math than children whose parents talk with them less about numbers. Here Levine discusses her findings.
