The National Science Foundation names engineering researcher Andrea Alù its Alan T. Waterman awardee for 2015

Alù is a pioneer in the field of metamaterials who has developed "cloaking" technology to make objects invisible to sensors

Andrea Alù is the David and Doris Lybarger Endowed Faculty Fellow in Engineering in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at UT Austin. He is also KNAW (Royal Netherlands Academy of Science) Visiting Professor at the AMOLF Institute in Amsterdam.
