HPC Acquisition Benchmarks

Benchmarks for NSF 05-625 “High Performance Computing System Acquisition: Towards a Petascale Computing Environment for Science and Engineering” are: HPC Challenge Benchmarks, SPIOBench, WRF, OOCORE, GAMESS (from DoD’s HPCMP Office), MILC, PARATEC (from NERSC) and HOMME (from NCAR).  Eligible organizations may download the benchmarks, and associated  guidelines and instructions at http://www.nsf.gov/publications/pub_summ.jsp?ods_key=nsf0605, or may request a DVD containing the benchmarks and associated guidelines and instructions by sending an email  request to pbezdek@nsf.gov.  Please include name, organization and full mailing address and reference NSF Solicitation NSF 05-625 in your request.

Data on the OOCORE benchmark are no longer required in proposals submitted under NSF 05-625.  In addition, proposing organizations are encouraged to use large processor core counts in their benchmarking and to use a relatively recent version of the GAMESS package, for example, the 27 June 2005 version used in the DoD HPC Modernization Program's TI-07 HPC acquisition. Please specify which version of GAMESS was used.
