Iowa State, Ames Lab Researcher Developing Bio-based Polymers That Heal Cracks

Michael Kessler of Iowa State University and the Ames Laboratory is researching biorenewable polymers capable of healing themselves as they degrade and crack. The self-healing properties can increase material lifetimes and reduce maintenance. There are challenges, but Kessler thinks there's potential to develop new and effective materials.Full StorySource
