 News From the Field A Scratched Coating Heals Itself

Researchers have developed a polymer-based coating that can heal itself when placed under ultraviolet light for less than a minute. The finding, from teams at Case Western Reserve University, the Adolphe Merkle Institute of the University of Fribourg, and the Army Research Laboratory at Aberdeen Proving Ground, are published in the April 21 issue of Nature.
