National Science Foundation Director Dr. France A. Córdova will join thousands of other academic, business, cultural and political leaders from across the globe next week at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, where she will participate in sessions on science, technology and society.

Córdova will participate in six sessions, including:

  • A discussion on gaps in scientific knowledge with Nobel Laureates in science.
  • A televised panel sponsored by Univision on how science will solve global problems and change lives.
  • A Time Magazine-led panel on emerging areas in 2015--where we can expect to hear science, technology and innovation success stories.
  • A session on scientific, technological and social breakthroughs needed to safeguard humanity's long-term survival.
  • A discussion about gender equality, closing the tech gender gap and strengthening diversity.
  • A discussion about storytelling in times of crisis.

For more than six decades, NSF has enabled the best minds to engage the scientific curiosity of hundreds of thousands of scientists, engineers, researchers, educators and students across the United States.

The World Economic Form runs Jan. 21-24. The complete agenda can be found here. Now in its 45th year, the Forum brings together leaders from disparate fields--industry, media, international organizations, government and more--to discuss global challenges and initiatives.
