Monarch Larva Monitoring Project

Monarch Larva Monitoring Project - image of monarch butterfly

The Monarch Larva Monitoring Project (MLMP), which began in 1997 at the University of Minnesota, asks citizens to become involved in collecting data that will help to explain the distribution and abundance patterns of monarch butterflies in North America. The University of Minnesota's Monarchs in the Classroom project and the Xerxes Society have also provided financial and other support for MLMP.
