Sari Test Micrographs in Bangladesh

NOTE: Dr. Colwells personal research material, if for other than her speeches...ASK PERMISSION.

Images: (1) new sari cloth micrograph (2) old sari cloth micrograph

Caption: The pictures show why old sari cloth, not new, is preferred – because its holes are smaller (ca. 20 µ) and better able to trap the plankton. Laboratory studies show that old sari cloth folded at least eight times filtered out more than 99% of the V. cholerae attached to plankton.
