AAAS Fellow Biography

Emily Grumbling

Dr. Emily Grumbling
AAAS Fellow
Office of the Director
Office of Cyberinfrastructure
Class of 2013

Emily Grumbling completed her Ph.D. in Chemistry in 2010 at the University of Arizona. For her doctoral research, she studied chemical structure and interactions at the quantum level using the technique of gas-phase negative-ion photoelectron imaging.

As a Fellow in the Office of Cyberinfrastructure, Emily is excited to help NSF support advancements in computing and data infrastructure throughout the scientific community. She is also interested in how these efforts affect the way that society as a whole receives and consumes information. Emily plans to work on cross-cutting projects and evaluations during her Fellowship.
