Morris B. Cohen is a AAAS Science Policy Fellow in the NSF Eng/ECCS Office. He comes from Stanford University Department of Electrical Engineering, where he received his PhD in 2009 and currently serves as a Research Scientist. His scientific background includes low-frequency radio wave propagation, terrestrial remote sensing, waves in space plasmas, and lightning physics.  Dr. Cohen has co-authored more than 35 papers in refereed journals, and his work has been highlighted by the journal Nature, and by EOS. He is a 2011 URSI "Young Scientist" award winner. As a student, he was the recipient of an AGU Outstanding Student Paper Award in Fall 2005 and Fall 2007, and won First Place at the 2010 URSI National Student Paper Competition.
