NSF Europe Office

The National Science Foundation
(NSF) is a United States government agency responsible for promoting
basic research and education in science and engineering. International
activities are supported throughout the NSF portfolio. The Foundation's Office
of International Science and Engineering (OISE) has
a leadership role in promoting and coordinating international cooperation
and manages NSF's overseas offices in Paris, Tokyo and Beijing.
The NSF Europe Office is affiliated with the American
Embassy in Paris and facilitates NSF activities in Western, Central,
and
Eastern
Europe. The Office is located in the NEO building in downtown Paris.
The NSF Europe Office has three major roles:
- Facilitation: Promote collaboration between
the science and engineering communities of the United States
and Europe.
- Representation: Serve as a liaison between NSF and agencies,
institutions and researchers throughout Europe.
- Reporting: Monitor and report on science and engineering developments
and policies in Europe.
The NSF Europe office does not review proposals or administer
awards. For funding opportunities, go to the NSF
homepage. For country-specific funding questions, see NSF's
Office of International Science and Engineering Staff
by Country.
