The UWAMRC is a Sparc 10 and UWAAWS is a Sparc 2, each with 4 gigabytes of hard disk space. MO is a magneto-optical read-write system primarily used for archiving the composite infrared images. At the Crary Laboratory, McMurdo, Antarctica, the MCMARCH is a Sparc 5, MCMAMRC is a Sparc Ultra, and MERLIN is a Sparc 2 used for display. The IBM 3590 tape system is the primary recording system with an 8-millimeter Exabyte tape system for backup. The data tapes are shipped to the University of Wisconsin during the field season.
