INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE USE OF THE HTML VERSION OF THE SBIR & STTR FORMS.
1) For proper viewing and printing of these forms, the user's browser should be set up to display "medium", "standard" or 12 point size variable spaced Times New Roman fonts (the normal default for most browsers) -- any other setting may cause problems. In Internet Explorer 4.0 these can be set under the "View" menu by selecting "Internet Options" and the "Fonts" button. In Netscape 4.5, they are set through the "Edit" menu by selecting "Preferences" and then "Appearance" then "Fonts."
2) Print margins should be set for 0.25 inches left, right and top with 0.5 inches on the bottom of the page.
3) Depending on your browser settings, the fonts on these forms may, or may not, conform to the minimum font requirements delineated elsewhere in the solicitation instructions. If this occurs, and you have otherwise carefully followed the instructions, your forms will not be deemed noncompliant for exceeding font size restrictions.
4) If a given form cannot be made to print out on a single, standard 8.5" x 11" page, then it will be allowed to overrun to a second page(s) -- this will not be counted as more than one page. Number the first page in proper proposal sequence; THEN number the overflow page(s) with letter extensions like: "1(a)" or "25(a)" and "25(b)" as these will not be counted in your page count/limit.
5) The Budget Page, Attachment D, will only print out on two pages -- number the first page in proper proposal sequence, AND number the second one as "page number" (a) -- with the (a) extension -- since it does not count in your page count.
6) The HTML version of the Certification Page, normally found on the back of Attachments B and F (the Proposal Cover Pages), is now in a seperate file -- see the forms list. This page should be printed out and included in your proposal as a stand-alone (not on the back of the Cover Page), unnumbered page placed behind the Cover Page and facing forward.
