Biography:
Carine Polliotti has been the Science and Administrative Assistant of the National Science Foundation Europe Office since March 2005. The Europe Office represents NSF in Europe and reports on trends and events of interest in all fields supported at the NSF.

Before joining the National Science Foundation, she was Senior Administrative Assistant in the Department of Pharmacological Sciences, State University of New York at Stony Brook, New York (2003). Mrs. Polliotti was responsible for funds management for all grants including two NIH program projects with several investigators and subcontracts (annual budget over $1,200,000). For seven years (1995-2002), Mrs. Polliotti worked in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Rochester, New York. She filed the positions of Departmental Administrative Assistant and Division of Gynecology Oncology Administrative Assistant before becoming the Research Administrator responsible for funds management for all departmental research grants, both clinical and basic science including federal agencies, pharmaceutical companies and private sponsors.

Prior to moving to Rochester, New York, Carine Polliotti was Administrative Assistant in the Department of Pediatrics Infectious Diseases at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia (1992-1995). Her administrative career before coming to the United States started in Belgium in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Free University in Brussels, followed by one year in Paris, France at the Laboratory of Cellular Physiology at the Pierre & Marie Curie University. Carine Polliotti earns a Baccalaureate Degree in Sciences (Belgium 1978). She has dual American and French citizenship and is bi-lingual in English and French. She is the mother of three children.
