8. The Department of Energy decertified Bettis Atomic Power Laboratory, Hanford Engineering Development Laboratory, and Knolls Atomic Power Laboratory as FFRDCs in October/November 1992. The Department of Energy
removed from the Master Government List of FFRDCs (1) the Energy Technology Engineering Center in November 1995 and (2) the Inhalation Toxicology Research Institute in May 1996.

10. In September 1991 the name was changed from Solar Energy Research Institute.
