This figure shows, for OECD countries, teacher salaries relative to per capita GDP in primary and upper secondary (general) education. For primary education, South Korea shows average salaries twice that of per capita GDP, while average salaries for Norway, Hungary, and the Czech Republic are less than the per capita GDP. Similarly, for upper secondary (general) education, South Korea remains at a level more than double the per capita GDP and is joined there by Switzerland. Those OECD countries showing upper secondary education teacher salaries below per capita GDP levels are the Czech Republic and Norway.
