Federal Employee Viewpoint Survey (FEVS) Results
The National Science Foundation (NSF) is pleased to present results from the 2022 Federal Employee Viewpoint Survey (FEVS). The 2022 FEVS results indicate that the Foundation is continuing to build on multiple years of steady improvements. NSF continues to maintain progress in the areas of employee engagement and employee satisfaction. Our high scores help make NSF a top-five place to work in the Federal government according to the Partnership for Public Service. As NSF continues moving into a hybrid work environment in 2023, we remain committed to our efforts to make NSF the best place to work in the Federal government. The 2022 FEVS for NSF was a census survey conducted from the week of June 6, 2022, to July 22, 2022. The FEVS was administered to 1,418 eligible NSF staff and 1,049 surveys were completed for a response rate of 74%. The governmentwide response rate was 35% and the response rate for medium-sized agencies was 60%. OPM reported results down to both the directorate/office and division levels in 2022. OPM also introduced a new Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Accessibility (DEIA) index for the 2022 FEVS.
Highlights from NSF's 2022 FEVS results include:
- NSF's index scores on both the Employee Engagement and Global Satisfaction remain high.
- NSF's score on OPM's Employee Engagement index score was 82.
- NSF's score on OPM's Global Satisfaction index score was 81.
- NSF employees also had positive perceptions of DEIA in 2022.
- The score on the new FEVS DEIA index was 82 in 2022.
