Alternative IDs for NSF Access
Visitors from states considered non-compliant with the REAL ID Act, and have not been granted an extension, must provide alternative identification — see below for forms of identification accepted by the National Science Foundation (NSF). In addition to the forms of identification pictured below, NSF will also accept university identification cards as long as they have a valid expiration date and photo.

- Employment Authorization Document issued by Department of Homeland Security
(Form I-766)

- U.S. Refugee Travel Document or other travel document of immigration status issued by DHS containing a photograph (Forms I-327 and I-571)

- Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC)

- Merchant Marine Card issued by DHS/USCG
