Classroom Science Gets a Makeover: NSF Fellows Bring Hands-on Lessons to Young Students

A North Carolina State University graduate engineering student and an elementary school teacher fluent in American Sign Language created new signs to represent scientific concepts. By the end of the school year, they had compiled a list of new signs to improve science education for hearing-impaired students.
