Fields Medal winner Manjul Bhargava: Mathematics is the pursuit of beauty

Manjul Bhargava this week won the prestigious Field Medal, in recognition of his work in the geometry of numbers. The International Mathematical Union presents the Fields Medal every four years to researchers under the age of 40 based on the influence of their existing work and on their "promise of future achievement." Here, Bhargava lectures at the Clay Mathematics Institute, a foundation dedicated to increasing and disseminating mathematical knowledge.
