12th Annual Philadelphia AMP Research Symposium and Mentoring Conference

About the series

On behalf of the Greater Philadelphia Region Louis Stokes Alliance for Minority Participation (Philadelphia AMP), you are cordially invited to attend our 12th Annual Philadelphia AMP Research Symposium and Mentoring Conference on Saturday, October 17, 2009. The theme of the conference is "Revealing the Genius Within". The Conference will be held at the Sheraton Philadelphia City Center Hotel, 17th & Race Street, Philadelphia, PA. We are expecting undergraduate students from many LSAMP Alliances across the country to attend, and we hope your program will be represented. LSAMP Bridge to the Doctorate (BTD) graduate students from LSAMP sites will also be in attendance.

During the Conference, undergraduate students from Philadelphia AMP and other LSAMP Alliances will showcase their research in poster competition sessions and compete for cash prizes (from $150 - $500), awards and giveaways, including a laptop computer, flash drives, and graphing calculators. In addition, representatives will also be available to provide mentoring and professional/career development for undergraduate students to transition successfully to graduate study, industry and academe.  Special professional development activities and an oral research competition will also be available for the LSAMP BTD participants.

Participation in the conference is free, but you must register to attend.  We also welcome the participation of faculty, administrators, and graduate students as judges as well.  The judging criteria and registration forms are attached.
