DESCRIPTION:The U.S. National Science Foundation Directorate for Mathematic
 al and Physical Sciences (NSF MPS) supports multiple materials research pr
 ograms that focus on advancing fundamental understanding of materials, the
 ir properties, and their potential applications.NSF MPS holds regular offi
 ce hours to share information with materials researchers, administrators, 
 and others in the U.S. materials research community.The MPS Materials Rese
 arch office hour event on Oct. 23 will provide updates on the current stat
 us of materials research programs, including the MPS Materials Research Pr
 ograms funding opportunity published in August.This office hour event will
  include a presentation followed by a Q&A session. Registration is require
 d to attend. For additional assistance with accessibility and reasonable

  support. Please contact NSF at least 14 days before your meeting or event
  date for sessions lasting one day or less and 30 days in advance for sess
 ions lasting two or more consecutive days to allow sufficient time to coor
