CONTACT:PESOSE PESOSE@nsf.gov
DESCRIPTION:During the NSF PESOSE Q&A Discussion webinar, participants will
have the opportunity to delve deeper into the program and ask questions d
irectly to an NSF program director.\n\nAbout the series\n\nThe NSF PESOSE
program is a new funding opportunity from the NSF Directorate for Technolo
gy, Innovation and Partnerships that combines the former Pathways to Enabl
e Open-Source Ecosystems and Safety, Security, and Privacy of Open-Source
Ecosystems programs. The PESOSE program helps translate open-source researc
h products, including software, hardware, machine learning models, languag
es and data platforms, into safe and sustainable ecosystems that address n
ational and societal challenges. The program also promotes strong governan
ce, collaborative development and broad engagement across academia, indust
ry and government. Additionally, the program aims to enhance the safety, s
ecurity, and privacy of open-source ecosystems by addressing key vulnerabi
lities and improving resilience against threats.Over the course of three w
ebinars, an NSF program director will introduce the program, explain its g
oals and eligibility requirements, answer questions, and outline the appli
cation process. The first webinar session will include a formal presentati
on followed by a moderated Q&A. A second session will be devoted primarily
to open Q&A, giving participants plenty of time to ask their specific con
cerns. The final session will focus on the application process itself and
walk attendees through what to expect. For additional assistance with acc
essibility and reasonable accommodations, contact rarequest@nsf.gov or cal
