Lenticular Cloud

Lenticular Cloud

Taken from Hilo, Hawaii, this image of a "lenticular" cloud formed by winds over Mauna Kea produced this classic formation created by upper level winds forced over the mountain and "skipping" in the atmosphere. The formation lasted almost 24 hours. (Date of Image: Nov. 25, 2003)
