Filters indicate how much carbon is suspended in various snow samples

This collection of filters indicates how much carbon is suspended in various snow samples taken from the Greenland Ice Sheet. The carbon arrives in Greenland from the burning of fossil fuels. Darker snow reflects less sunlight and melts more quickly.
