The images were created by employees of the United States Government as part of their official duties or prepared by contractors as "works for hire" for NSF. New business R&D survey replaces a previous industry survey that had been conducted since 1953.
Conducted as a full-scale pilot, the Business R&D and Innovation Survey replaces the National Science Foundation's previous industry R&D survey which had been carried out every year since 1953.
