The world is used to computers getting faster and more powerful with each passing year. These gains in performance depend on improving computer chips. In recent years, computers using multi-core chips have shown great promise in allowing for continued improvements in computer performance. NSF and SRC have joined together in a new initiative to improve the design and architecture of these chips.
