National Science Board spotlights Nalini Nadkarni and Expanding Your Horizons for enhancing public understanding of science

Nalini Nadkarni, the National Science Board's 2010 Public Service Awardee, scales an old-growth Douglas fir tree in the Cascade Mountains to do ecological research. There she also interacts with artists she invites to the canopy for her interdisciplinary "Canopy Confluences."
