Powering advances in wireless connectivity for the future
NSF joins leading networking companies and associations to support wireless research platforms in Salt Lake City and New York City

The Platforms for Advanced Wireless Research (PAWR) Project Office (PPO) is overseeing two significant testing platforms for advanced wireless research in Salt Lake City and New York City.

POWDER-RENEW: A Platform for Open Wireless Data-driven Experimental Research with Massive MIMO Capabilities, a collaboration with municipal and state leadership from Salt Lake City and the State of Utah, awarded to the University of Utah and Rice University will be located in Salt Lake City.

COSMOS: Cloud Enhanced Open Software Defined Mobile Wireless Testbed for City-Scale Deployment located in New York's West Harlem is partnering with a host of institutions including Rutgers University, Columbia University, New York University, the University of Arizona, Silicon Harlem, The City College of New York, and IBM will bring an advanced wireless test bed to life in New York City.
