Exactly How Much Housework Does a Husband Create?

mother with child in arms Husbands create an extra seven hours a week of housework for wives, according to a new University of Michigan study. But wives save men from about an hour of housework a week. The findings are part of a detailed study of housework trends, based on 2005 time-diary data from a National Science Foundation-funded panel study of income dynamics. The University of Michigan's Institute for Social Research has conducted the panel study since 1968. Full Story

The National Science Foundation (NSF) is an independent federal agency that supports fundamental research and education across all fields of science and engineering.
