Swimmers at Public Beaches Show Increased Risk of Exposure to Contagious Staph Bacteria

University of Miami's Oceans and Human Health Center, along with Florida DOH, CDC and EPA, jointly sponsored a first-ever epidemiological study of sub-tropical ocean beaches and presented preliminary findings at the AAAS meeting in Chicago, Ill. Swimmers at public beaches show increased risk of exposure to contagious staph bacteria.

The National Science Foundation (NSF) is an independent federal agency that supports fundamental research and education across all fields of science and engineering.
