Small, but plentiful: How the faintest galaxies illuminated the early universe

Ultraviolet light from stars in these faint dwarf galaxies helped strip interstellar hydrogen of electrons in a process called reionization.Full Story

The U.S. National Science Foundation propels the nation forward by advancing fundamental research in all fields of science and engineering.
