On Tuesday, June 16, the National Science Foundation will host a recognition ceremony for the latest recipients of the Presidential Award for Excellence in Science, Mathematics, and Engineering Mentoring (PAESMEM). The event will take place in the Ronald Reagan Building's Rotunda Room.

A list of the awardees is included in this March 2015 White House announcement.

The awardees will be honored for their work to encourage the next generation of innovators and for growing a science and engineering workforce that better reflects the diverse talent of America. Each awardee has had an impact on engaging students from communities that are underrepresented in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) fields. The awardees have influenced thousands of students from K-12 to Ph.D. candidates. Mentees have gone on to careers as doctors, engineers, teachers and researchers.

Media are welcome to attend the awards ceremony from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. and interview individual mentors afterwards.

Those who wish to attend should contact Maria Zacharias at mzachari@nsf.gov.
