Engineers assist Bank of America Chicago Marathon with technology

A Northwestern University and Bank of America Chicago Marathon research team has custom-designed a data visualization system that provides a computer simulation of the race. Using data from the last seven Chicago Marathons and from runners in this year's race, the system can forecast where large concentrations of participants will be 20 minutes later, helping race officials plan accordingly.Full Story
