Researchers find computer code that allowed modern automobiles to defeat emissions tests

diesel gate An international team of researchers has uncovered the mechanism that allowed modern automobiles to circumvent U.S. and European emission tests over a period of at least six years. Computer scientists conducted a year-long investigation that led them to code that signaled a car's onboard computer to reduce emissions only during times that tests were most likely. Full Story
