How to catch a fish genome with Big Data

Researchers assembled and annotated genome of the Seriola dorsalis fish species, aka California Yellowtail. Z-W sex determination identified in S. dorsalis. XSEDE Extended Collaborative Support Services, Blacklight and Stampede resources were utilized in the fish genome discovery. This research on California yellowtail could potentially help in its sustainable aquaculture harvest.Full Story
