Don’t miss the 2021 (virtual) Reach Out Science Slams!

The Reach Out! Science Communication Challenge is a nationwide effort to boost the communication skills of students and early-career researchers affiliated with the National Science Foundation’s 12 flagship Science and Technology Centers (STCs).

Who can tell the best science story in just 3-minutes? Follow along and cast your votes to find out!

Early career researchers from around the country will be competing to see who can tell the best science story in just 3 minutes! Follow your favorite science storytellers through the Semifinals and cast your votes along the way to help us decide who will make it to the Finals Event on May 4 and who will win the top prize!

April 6 Semifinals 1 7:00 - 8:00 pm ET (6 CT, 5 MT, 4 PT)

April 13 Semifinals 2 7:00 - 8:00 pm ET (6 CT, 5 MT, 4 PT)

April 20 Semifinals 3 7:00 - 8:00 pm ET (6 CT, 5 MT, 4 PT)

May 4 The Reach Out Science Slam Finals 7:00 pm – 8:00 pm (6 CT, 5 MT, 4 PT)

The U.S. National Science Foundation propels the nation forward by advancing fundamental research in all fields of science and engineering. NSF supports research and people by providing facilities, instruments and funding to support their ingenuity and sustain the U.S. as a global leader in research and innovation. With a fiscal year 2021 budget of $8.5 billion, NSF funds reach all 50 states through grants to nearly 2,000 colleges, universities and institutions. Each year, NSF receives more than 40,000 competitive proposals and makes about 11,000 new awards. Those awards include support for cooperative research with industry, Arctic and Antarctic research and operations, and U.S. participation in international scientific efforts.
