EVENT: Chat Live with Scientists in Antarctica

On August 11 at 7pm EST, join ecologist Kim Bernard and her team live from Palmer Station, Antarctica for an event in honor of the first ever World Krill Day. In this live Zoom event, learn how researchers study krill, small crustaceans that play an important role in the marine food web, and why they are so important to the health of the ocean. With a fiscal year 2022 budget of $8.8 billion, NSF funds reach all 50 states through grants to nearly 2,000 colleges, universities and institutions. Those awards include support for cooperative research with industry, Arctic and Antarctic research and operations, and U.S. participation in international scientific efforts.
