EVENT: Ad Hoc Meeting for the Advisory Committee for Polar Programs

April 28, 2023

An ad hoc meeting of the Advisory Committee for the Office of Polar Programs will be on May 17, 2023, from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm EST. The Advisory Committee will review a report compiled by the COVID Protocols Subcommittee of the Advisory Committee.

In March, the Office of Polar Programs provided information on the plan for updating the COVID-19 protocols for the 2023/24 Antarctic season. Last month an independent panel of experts comprised of medical professionals, scientists, and community members met to provide its recommendations to NSF through the OPP Advisory Committee.

If accepted by the Advisory Committee, the report will be transmitted to the Office of Polar Programs and NSF leadership who will consider the recommendations for COVID-19 protocols for the 2023-24 season. NSF still plans on finalizing 2023/2024 COVID-19 protocols in June.
