The Office of Polar Programs, Interagency Arctic Research Policy Committee (IARPC), Alaska Ocean Observing System (AOOS), and other federal agencies have compiled a list of planned research expeditions in Alaska and Arctic waters during the 2023 research season. The list is now available on the IARPC Collaborations website. The aim of this outreach tool is to improve collaboration among Arctic researchers throughout the year and to help with communications and coordination with local and Indigenous communities.

To continue the collaboration of work in the Arctic, the IARPC Field Operations, Sea Ice, and Marine Ecosystems Communities of Practice will co-host a Pre-Field Season Meeting for a preview of the upcoming field activities on 25 May 2023 at 1pm ET / 9am AKT. At this meeting, researchers will share information about their upcoming expeditions that is relevant to other researchers and to coastal communities. This meeting is open to anyone who wants to join and will be recorded.

Additionally, IARPC will be posting when each expedition begins on Facebook and Twitter. Follow them on these platforms to be regularly reminded when expeditions are heading into the field. You can also sign up for the IARPC newsletter to be alerted if changes are made to expedition plans.
